Transportation Services

General:

  • Patients can sometimes find transportation assistance through their insurance company. Advise patients to call their insurance company for details.

  • Uber/Lyft Ride share services are an option if none of the below work or applicable

  • There was a service in 2021 (lost funding in JUNE) TD BARTA – intercounty transportation for people who can get into vehicles. Hope to have back up and running. Good for “northern counties” like from Manatee to Hillsborough. $6-7 a day. Currently not operating but expecting to restart. Nice because it’s cheaper than uber.

  • Some United plans have another service called WellMed. Welmed often has other resources such as Medical transportation – comfort care will help with transportation even if they run out of their allotment.
